POP Goes the Gmail

Pop Goes the Gmail is a program that sits between the http://gmail.com web server and your email client, converting messages from web format into POP3 format that a program such as Outlook Express or Thunderbird can understand.

I am using this software happily in office with my Microsoft Outlook 2003. Anyway, this program also resolved the “Oops” problem of Gmail. If you are interested in this small tool, download it at http://jaybe.org/info.htm.

Minolta Dynax 7D?

You may be wondering why I don’t have a DC in such a digital world. So…the reason is pretty simple.

It’s because I love Minolta(known as KonicaMinolta now) and they haven’t published a DSLR(digital single lens reflecting) yet. However, the latest rumor(?) about the upcoming DSLR camera is that the final release date would be September 30, 2004. Is that true? Who knows! Minolta, being a leading professional SLR camera manufacturer before, is backward in the digital era. Although Minolta has made quite a lot of excellent amateur digital camera, they still have disappointed a lot of their fans by not making a DSLR body.

Canon and Nikon, who have published their first DSLR model several years ago, have been playing a leading role in the DSLR world. Their new Digital Rebel and D70 have defeated Minolta in both technology and price. Customers as well! Many Minolta fans have went to Canon, Nikon or even FujiFilm for their DSLR camera.

Don’t disappoint us anymore, Minolta! I am waiting for the digital body to fit my “Lens King” 85mm/1.4G(D)…
